Are the new icons a sign of a "bigger" GUI?

Post by Nic »

The new icons seem to have a higher resolution - maybe to be ready to be scaled up/down when people play the game in a higher/lower resolution than 1920x1080.

Also something like this would be possible then: https://forums.factorio.com/forum/vie ... f=6&t=6996
I am Nic and I love to play games - the more unique the game concept is, the more I am up to buy a game and support the developers with my ideas.

Do you mean the high-resolution ones shown in Friday Facts 64?

No, I was not talking about the items themself but about the icons in the inventory - the "new" icons of some items (e.g. pipe, inserter etc.) have a higher resolution compared to some "older" icons - so you would be able to scale them up without them getting pixelated.
That would mean you can either increase the size of the GUI elements while playing in higher resolutions without noticeing any difference or even scale the GUI items while playing in your favourite resolution like I tried to explain in the linked post.

I have problem seeing things in factorio so double GUI size would be very welcome.

Which resolution do you use?

Scaleable gui is planned. No date set for it, though.

2560x1600 you can call it 1600p or 2.5k

A simple 2x2 filter would really be enough for me to play 1280x800 resolution (i play in window mode).

I often play games in 1080p because of tiny text that is hard to read. Now i have 970GTX that brings back SSAA and allow me to set 5 120 x 3 200 resolution, and with that i can't see things even with magnifying glass :D
Also some games think it would be "cool" idea to set my resolution to this one, because why not? DAMN YOU (some) INDiE GAAAAMES!
