I'm just glad the new alert is short, and doesn't appear to echo anymore. Originally it worked fine, an alarm would sound on a unit taking damage, and repeat every ?10 seconds until damage stopped. Then something changed, and it would sound on damage, then sound again 10 second later. Even if there was no further damage, and the alert icon was already gone. So it drove me crazy, trying to find where the attack was.

The new one, yea, its kinda annoying, but the frequency shows the severity of the damage to an extent, and it doesn't echo. So yea.

Can't say much on the laser or worms, haven't messed with lasers yet, and I don't recall what the worms sounded like.

Sounded like a *Hurk* vaguely choking/vomiting sound effect or something. It roars now I think when you approach them?

I don't even think it was original to SR4. I think it's been a joke pretty much since the invention of dubstep that the bass drop sounds like it could be weaponised.

I also want to have the old alert-damage.ogg back. I don't mind the new alert-destroyed.ogg, but it's not sufficient on it's own to get my attention when I am focused on something. Without the damage alert, I am often left completely unaware of an ongoing attack until one of my structures is destroyed.

Please reinstate the old damage alert functionality as a tick-box/check-box option in one of the menus.
