Yellow High Tech Science Layout

Post by jasonwhitener »

I've been searching for a while now and can't find a decent layout for yellow/high tech science. Does anyone have a blueprint string or img to share?

Yah, all the top results are pretty bad. Only one actually uses prod3 and that's down about #7 - I can't imagine making high tech science without prod3, the return on investment is just so good.

Personally I think that high tech should be done on an adhoc basis until researching logistic system (that is just human logistic bot most the ingredients, except maybe copper wire), then setup properly using prod3+speed beacons with logistic bots (labs should also get prod3 and speed beaconed, at this stage of the game). Not very creative and lacking finesse, but by far the optimal way to do it.

I just splatter miles of assembly lines all over the place at one side of my main bus. Takes up the space of my entire remaining factory combined. I don't think there is a "neat and tidy" way to do this with the amount of circuits involved.

Of course, you can do that way before prod3 modules. Just make sure your bus is wide enough and your furnaces ready to take the blow.

Of course, if you produce most of the necessary materials off site... :D

Those materials are also used for making other products, so I don't see any problem to produce them off site and put them into main bus. ;)

This is a design I came up with.

Direct insertion can also be replaced with belts if you use modules. For example with 3 PM3 + 1 SM3 you only need 5.2 robot frame assemblers for 7 science assemblers
