Factorio changes over the last year?

Hi all,

I've got close to 500 hours of Factorio logged, but all this was around April 2016 (roughly 12 months ago). Can anyone give me or point me to a summary of the last 12 month's of Factorio game development?

The most recent version around April 2016 was 0.12.x.

0.13 was released at the end of June 2016 with major new features, here's a very useful overview that briefly explains each new feature and has lots of pictures/gifs:

0.14 was released in August 2016 with a completely rewritten multiplayer code and new multiplayer features, enabling multiplayer games on a large scale.

There have also been some minor features added that are not included in the above link and a ton of bugfixes. You can read the complete changelog for each version in the Releases section of the forums.

And the biggest changes are yet to come in 0.15 which will probably be released soon (tm).
This patch is so huge that you can't even read the complete patch notes to it (if one would even exist) through the whole evening.
Everyone is so hyped to see it that you can't express. Devs were feeding up with teases for such a long time adding more and more value to it...

About 50 major and minor releases, and 52 FFF may help you get an overview.

Well, he asked if someone could give him a summary. Linking him to a slew of links is not that. ;)

Daniels info was pretty good though, what I remembered is cool fire system + multiplayer code revamp + general code revamps. Not that many new Gameplay things you can play around with apart from maybe new mods which came out or got more rich like bobs mods. If you want a fresh experience, wait for 0.15 to come out! :)
