Indiegogo funding/alpha status question

I am very interested in this game. I played through the demo in a few hours. I want to fund the Indiegogo campaign, but I'm a little worried about what happens if it fails - The money will be returned according to Indiegogo, which is fine, but the alpha is not supposed to be released until march.

If I back the campaign, but it then fails, will I still get access to the alpha version, even if development goes no further?

If you back the project, you (almost) instantly get access to an alpha version with many more features than the demo. So you will get to see the current state of the game regardless of whether the campaign succeeds.

The devs said somewhere else that they consider allowing people to buy the alpha if the campaign fails, although the rate of development would be slower.
