Hi,
I'm relative new in this game and have a simple (newbie)-question after playing around with some MOD's.
After building a lot of belts for each ressource I wonder how can I see what is laying on a belt?
By hover over the belt you see just the belt in the right info-window.
I mean as relative new in the game and playing with bob-mods I get confused what is on all the belts I build
OK, I can go all the way back where the belt gets filled but is there any mod to get this information from ?
Thx ...
Information what is on a transport belt
Re: Information what is on a transport belt
Unfortunately not. If you're new, it's probably best to stick to vanilla with just helper mods, perhaps? At least until you can recognise the items.
Something like Bobs Mods confuses me still, and I've logged hundreds of hours.

I also played with bobs to begin with, but i never had this problem. You can stand on the belt and press F and you will pick up what in on the belt.

Re: Information what is on a transport belt
Retrieving information on whats on a belt can be done by:
1) Collecting information what you insert on the belts by counting with chests and as of upcoming update .13 by counting inserter signals directly (combinator stuff), counting items going on minus items going off the belt.
2) modding (boring, maybe no usefull mods that fit your needs)
its helpfull to know what you need this information for..

What OP is asking is, 'How do I look at an item on the ground and know what it is if I don't recognise it?'Gertibrumm wrote:Retrieving information on whats on a belt can be done by:

Re: Information what is on a transport belt
Like they said, best to just check it from some other source.
1.) You can trace the belt to its source and see what is putting the items on the belt
2.) you can trace the belt to where it is going, especially storage bins, to see what item is being put in
3.) you can zoom in and try to match the graphic with its icon in your crafting recipe book
4.) if you're really determined to know what it is, you can set up a "buffer" chest which has one inserter pull the item in, and another inserter put in back out on the belt. Then if the belt gets backed up, the chest starts to fill up and you can look inside to see what item is getting stopped on the belt.
