It looks like while many factories being designed as using different regions to create respective intermediate products, some are actually designed as make and consume everything inside one region - raw ores/oil in, research packs out and directly conume up.
As the FFF in 2.0 the white pack now seems discouraged from making from rocket silo, and for packs from other planets, the plan is to use one single drop pad on each planet and transfer items by space platform shifting orbits. This means - white pack can (mostly) be only found in the only drop pad on earth, meaning this requires additional rail transfer cost and possibly revamp factory layout/logistic settings. this will quickly become bottleneck for a factory already achieved several K/min packs probably.
What's more what if packs from new planet is required in infinite technology (if they add)?
Some huge factory needs full revamp after 2.0?
Re: Some huge factory needs full revamp after 2.0?
Small production lines may stay the same (balancers, green/red/blue circuits, inserters, belts, may be even some science pack production lines), but on a larger scale factories will be different in so many details, it's better to rebuild instead of changing on an existing map. I plan to start completely fresh to avoid inheriting issues from 1.1 that don't exist in 2.0. There are so many subtle QoL improvements, you will skip them all if you continue to run a map originally created in 1.1.
