Are there any tutorials on how to use the combinators because I couldn't find anything on wiki ?

Do smart inserters now only work on one wire condition vs 2 ?

I have the minimal Factorio package is it worth it at the moment to upgrade to the package which includes the scenario editor or should I wait and see if it gets integrated ?

What scenario editor?
Map editor is available in any package. Higher tiers offer scenario pack akin to the demo campaign and the other one with the plane in the end.
As for combinators, you might want to look here: https://www.factorio.com/blog/post/fff-88
I do mods. Modding wiki is friend, it teaches how to mod. Api docs is friend too...
I also update mods, some of them even work.
Recently I did a mod tutorial.

For now, the scenarios aren't that impressive. They will provide a bit more entertainment (if you are into that kind of thing), but don't expect anything massive.
As I see it, the higher tiers are mostly if you want to support the developers.

That being said, the developers said multiple times they plan to expand the scenarios once the game becomes more complete, and assuming by that stage the game will cost more, it may be more cost-effective to buy the scenarios now.

There are no real comprehensive tutorials on combinators atm. I am planning on updating the wiki soon, and I'm currently in the process of figuring out exactly what I should include. As for smart inserters; yes they only take one wire condition now. However, you can throw down a combinator next to them to compare multiple conditions.
