1 solar panel produces 42KW after factoring in the night

Post by GeoStyx »

After some extensive testing, I have found that net solar power is 70% of the amount that a solar panel produces.

Code: Select all

netWatts = .7 * solarPanels * 60
or

Code: Select all

netWatts = solarPanels * 42
And as it's been mentioned before, 7:6 solar/accus is the optimal ratio.
Hope this helps someone!

this fact, and many of it's derivatives, has been extensively discussed already, and a search for solar math turns them up well enough.

It's really 16:14, but not really, the exact fraction I calculated had four digits in both parts

yeah, something like that, but i got something like 2510:2160 ish, but it was within 5% of 16:14 so i was fine with the truncation

Roar! Now i also play solar panels/accums, i just build the simple + accum for 12 accum/16 solar, i don't care to make it efficient because if energy is slacking, just stamp down a couple blueprints and we gucci.

But how about you guys that do all the math for them, to try 100% steam powered only bases? also try setting coal frequency to low along with it.

@OBAMA MCLAMA: You can add some accumulator-only fields, 3 accumulator "rings" around a substation. One of this has 48 accumulators. If you use 12 "+" designs and one of this, than you have a ratio of 1 to 1. (At least if I remember that correctly.)
