Difficulty changes?

I can't say that I was reading changelogs very carefully, but I don't remember anything about pollution spreading or biters agressiveness tweaking.

In early 0.10.x version I used to set 2-3 turrets in different directions and they could handle 2-3 biters incomings fairly well.
Later on I was encasing these turrets in walls and that was enough till lasers.

Yesterday I started new game on regular settings and I've got like 20 biters incoming on 18th minute!
I had to load save from 14th minute and placed 12 turrets to stop them. And I lost 2 turrets during that attack.
For the first time I actually had to build transport belt with bullets to feed turrets!
I rushed for steel armor and destroyed nearby nests. I really hope that didn't pushed evolution too far.

Anyone new started game in 0.10.12?

Evolution only affects size, not number. You had the bad luck to aggro a large base. :)
