Question about terain gen

Post by genc22 »

Is this kind of terain normal?

It looks kind of misplaced, like someone copied 2 parts from different maps and glued them together.

That's what you'd expect if you started that game before the terrain generation changes were implemented. Any terrain that had been generated before that patch wouldn't line up with post-patch generated terrain. If that's a new game then it's gotta be a bug.

I had a Minecraft game that looked like that =D Had bits where mountains suddenly stopped.

So I built a huge base into the side of the cliff, next time I loaded the chunks fixed themselves and my base got splinched halfway across the map lmao

Yes, this is normal.
Things like that happen, if you change Factorio version in the middle of the game. With each version the map generator might create the map a little bit different (Code changes, weighting changes, etc. ...).
Cool suggestion: Eatable MOUSE-pointers.

Go out and find new chunks you haven't visited yet. That should spawn any new world gen items.
