"Failed to Create Display"

Post by Wigster600 »

Hello,
I tried the demo earlier, had a little error where the app would appear on my taskbar but wouldn't show, I sorted it by right clicking on the exe and chaned the dropdown box for thw window from Normal window to maximised and this sorted it, I then proceeded to play the demo an enjoyed it quite abit.

Having completed the demo I them decided to buy the game of the version Transport Belt Repairman. I downloaded it, installed with no issues then ran the game, instead of not appearing this time, it came up with this white flashing window that kept appearing and dissapearing, after flashing for a while an error box popped up saying;

"Failed to created display"

So I tried the method which I sorted the demo version out but this didn't make a difference, each time the seizure inducing window came up. :(

Is there a fix for this? Any help would be much appreciated.

EDIT:
Extra Information:
I'm running alpha version 0.10.12
Specs:
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit
Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II N620 Dual-Core Processor 2.80 GHz
Video Card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470
RAM: 4.00 GB (3.24 usable)
HD: 300gb

No log files avaible, I presume I need to be sucessful in running the game before the program can generate a log.
Thanks - Wigster600

Hi.
I haven't seen "Failed to Create Display" for a while.

Was any of the similar reports (search) relevant? If so, extend the relevant thread instead.

Does the same problem exist with the latest "experimental" version as well?

Can you please also post
operating system and
hardware information?

Potentially also consider logfiles

Hello,
I also tried the experimental version and 9.8 both come up with the same issue.
Specs:
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit
Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II N620 Dual-Core Processor 2.80 GHz
Video Card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470
RAM: 4.00 GB (3.24 usable)
HD: 300gb

EDIT:

The Zip version seems to be working with the same issue that the demo had.
