After a few hours decided I didn't like it, so I uninstalled it. Some territory was "discovered" under Alien Biomes, so when I came up without it, some territory was set to a dark green texture since the Alien Biomes textures were no longer there. A couple of hundred hours later, in search of copper, I ventured out to the place where I cross into that zone. I tried to landfill a couple of tiny lakes just at and over that boundary. In some cases landfill simply would not stick.
In the image 1, all of the small lakes refused to accept landfill. In the image 2, which is a short distance further north of image 1, landfill of a small part of a larger lake was partially successful, but some individual spots refused. This refusal persists across saves.
This is not a serious problem, as you can see below, my rail line from the southwest just turns away to the north. I just wanted to notify you.
I have over 5000 hours on this game, and I do not regret a single minute. I am 71 years old and retired, happily OCD (CDO), and can do as I please. I bought the game in ( I think) 2015 or 2016, at version 0.11, and have played through at least 10 times. I play with biters in Peaceful mode most of the time -- they spike my heartbeat and I should probably avoid that at my age. This playthrough has launched over 1400 rockets.
I do wish there were more actual defined objectives in the megabase phase of the game.
