[0.17.79] Low FPS when not hosting multiplayer game

Hi!
I have had a problem for a while with a multiplayer save that me and some friends run. When I host it runs rather smoothly and there are really no issues at all.
However, if one of my friends host the game I have massive lag. The UPS keeps up (almost 60UPS) but I frequently have FPS lower than 10 which is not playable.
I expect it to run the same way when I host the game as when my friends host it.

We tried removing all entities which did not help.

The logs and screenshots are all from a session where Fatalapple was the host.

Your machine is the limiting factor, if you host the game it runs below 60 ups, if a faster machine is hosting you can not keep up and drop frames to not disconnect completely.

Okay, I read about the performance issues people have had but I dont really see why im throttling. The CPU is below 70% constantly and the GPU is barely affected by the game. Can it be something else?

Factorio is not able to fully utilize more than one core. It is partially multithreaded, but single-thread performance and RAM throughput are still the limiting factors to look at.

But even when I look at each core separately, non of them are above 70%. I guess I have to upgrade my ram then. Never thought I would need to do that tbh, not because of the speed anyway
