Version Miss match on a linux server

Post by iceman11a »

A friend of mine set me up and my friends with a linux. The problem is that I just downloaded factorio 16.38 and I uploaded that to the server. Including any updated mods. I updated the client all so. It's now version 16.38. When I try and connect to it. I keep getting version miss match. The server is reporting version 16.36 and my version is 16.38. So I'm stumb at why I can't play any more. I'm all so the discord server. if anyone can help.

You will need to update the server or downgrade your machine, so they both run the same version

ok, That's what the problem is. I tried that all ready. I down graded and upgraded and have the same issue. It doesn't seem to work. When I up grade the server with the current version. Like 16.38. It doesn't seem to be the version I updated it with. Some where the version is getting mixed up and I don't know how. If I update the server to version 16.38. and try and connect to it. The version on the server is wrong, That's what I'm trying to tell you. Something else is wrong and I don't know why or what is going on.

Looking at the previous log, the server refused a connection because of
Refusing connection for address (434fc5c5e50565d03dc52d7d3f6234f6f4ba3106), username (iceman11a). ModsMismatch
Both client and server need to be running exactly the same mods (including mod version, and mod startup settings).

You downloaded the wrong server version, as already said, download the latest version and update the client or role the client back to 16.36.

That's what I'm trying to tell you. I did download and installed version 38. This is the file that I downloaded and installed on the server

factorio_headless_x64_0.16.38.tar

I deleted all the files on the server. and uploading the files from this tar file.

Both logs you provided say the server is running version 0.16.36 . It is the first line in the log file.

Then let me delete the logs again and see what happens when I try and connect. I downloaded the right file and I know I uploaded the right sources.
