[0.16.28] Game hangs, minimap only shows immediate screen

Hi, my game stop responding when I approach near the corners of what I have explored. The game hangs and the minimap only shows what is on my screen. It usually takes 30 seconds and the game is back, but now it is causing the game to crash.

Hi, you need to go to grapgics options and change sprite quality to normal to be able to play with mods that add so much new graphics. Frankly, I am amazed the game even loads, it creates almost 7GB worth of textures.

Texture compression could also help - it's hard to tell how much it reduces VRAM usage but it was a visible difference when I tested it. I'm not sure if there will be a visible diffeerence in graphics quality - high with compression should be still better then normal I think.
