FPS went from 60 Yesterday to 20 Today

Post by draginz »

Hello fellows. Today I started up Factorio and to my dissatisfaction I found that it was running at roughly 15-25 frames per second. This was quite the surprise to me, because just yesterday (and every other time I've played) my game has run at a smooth 55-60 FPS. I'm really not sure what's happened here, I'm hoping some bright mind can help me out.
Some pertinent info:
- I am running vanilla.
- My save file is about 60 hours in, however, I started up a brand new freeplay game, and the FPS issue remained.
- My UPS remains at 60.
- My system is not in power-saver mode.
- My CPU averages at about 35 - 45 degrees C while running Factorio

System info:
Core i7 5500U Broadwell
12GB RAM
nVidia GTX860m 2GB GPU

Does it persist if you reboot your computer? Please post also your log (located at %APPDATA%\Factorio\factorio-current.log)

Hello posila.
Yes, unfortunately the issue does persist after a couple reboots.

Something I feel I should add: My laptop has two GPUs. One of them is a generic Intel HD something or other. The other one is a nVidia GTX860m 2GB. In my nVidia control panel, I have verified that the executable is using the nVidia GPU and not the generic Intel GPU.
