Have a 25+ hour mp game playing with a friend since 13.10 or so and we tried to load it up Saturday night and I would host the game and the game treated me as a brand new player (1 burner drill iron plates for 2 axes etc). He loaded in fine with his old inventory.
If I hosted the game in single player it recognized me fine.
We're playing through the Multiplayer -> Load game not using the verify user or the play online stuff, just direct connect. I eventually just loaded it in sp then dropped all my stuff in a chest, saved it, loaded it back up in mp (it recognized me this time ironically and kept continuity) and picked my stuff back up as he loaded in.
No harm done but wanted to see if anyone else had this issue and how to avoid it.

The player is name dependent, so if you changed your name you would start with a new player.
