[0.12.26] (Solved) DEMO Does not run

Post by LaGallinaTuruleta »

Hi,

I try to run this game.
I downloaded MS Windows (64 bit exe installer) from official web page.
I installed it and run it. And the launcher (it seems) start white and give me an error:

Specific system information:
Windows 7 Ultimate SP1
8GB RAM
2 monitors; 1920x1080 and 1280x1024
2 graphic cards ; 1 APU(INTEL) and 1 GPU(AMD)
And it gives to me this error:

Hi,

Seems your Factorio crashes while trying to create display. Have you tried to read this : viewtopic.php?f=7&t=9300 ?

Alternatively you can try to set force-opengl=true in Factorio's config file or use launch option --force-opengl.

There is a bug in AMD drivers that causes crash when using certain OpenGL function. We made a workaround in 0.12.25 so I thought it is still buggy on some systems.

I tested if changing graphics options default_config.ini has any effect, but it does not. You need to create config.ini in C:\Users\Alex\AppData\Roaming\Factorio\config\
Only useful option that could help you at this stage is

Code: Select all

[graphics]
force-opengl=false
Since you have AMD graphics card, Factorio will default to OpenGL. This way it will try to use DirectX. Other options (video-memory-usage, graphics-quality, max-texture-size) are not relevant, because it crashes before creating Window or intialization of graphical API.

Stacktrace in the logs starts by OS throwing an exception, but it doesn't say where in our code that happened, which is weird, and doesn't give me any clue to what could be wrong.

Re: [0.12.26] DEMO Dont run

This file "C:\Users\Alex\AppData\Roaming\Factorio\config\default_config.ini"
Was create on first installation.
To explain when I say "Using: " [graphics] video-memory-usage=medium". I changed that file with that parameters XD.
I tried using : "[graphics] force-opengl=false" I doesn't work :P
Then what can i try?

Hi, I just resolved.
Just I unistalled AMD old drivers and install last drivers ;).
How can I move this post to resolved posts?
Thanks for your support.
