[MODDED] Issues with sudden slowdowns

Post by Enterpriser1995 »

Hey guys, as the title says, i'm getting sudden slowdowns every 2-3 seconds, which, in fact, makes the game totally unplayable.

What's the mod that's causing the issue? Or is it the game?
Anyway, here are my mods.

(That's taken directly from the modslist.json.)

if you run the game with debug info enabled (F5), there is a list of mods and the times they take (at the end of Update section). The values are milliseconds per tick and the format is previous tick/average for 10s/maximum for 10 s. Look for large values in the last column.

Hi cube, i'm afraid i can't help it.

But i might have discovered the cause of it.

Removing transport belts almost fixed the issue, with the largest value in the last column being "lua garbage incremental" @ 4.417 and the largest value in the first column being "mod-TreeFarm-Lite" @ 0.349.

Basically, what i'm getting is a process lag spike ranging from 0.5 secs to 5 secs on the worst of the cases, it happens every 3-4 secs, and as you would guess, it makes the game unplayable. Also, i removed RecordYourStuff, it was worsening the process lag.

Alas, removing transport belts and placing underground belts everywhere isn't a good solution for me, so the problem is definitely not solved.

I'm afraid that it has to be the number of items on belts. I tried putting my graphics on low, but since item sprites change only that tiny bit, that's not enough for the game to run smoothly.

Can you please post a screenshot of the timing statistics when the slowdowns are happening? Just make sure that you let the game run for at least 10 seconds before screenshoting it. Also if transport belts are your problem, Kovarex has optimized the belts a lot for 0.12.0 :-)

That's it.

Still can't see what's wrong with it.
FPS will swing around 57, but still i can't understand what's the issue that's slowing me down. You know, the feeling is like the game freezes and resumes, getting from 0.1s to 5s to begin responding.
Also, it increases unpredictably.

FPS will stay the same during this period of time, and i guess mods do, too, cause i couldn't see nothing else.

And another issue that may cause a ton of lag is RoadWorks. Back on 0.11.16 i remember i used to build roads around my factories, but the last one was the fatal one. After paving one, i placed some tracks.
After three or four seconds the game was totally unplayable, beginning to freeze for 0.5 secs every second.

There seems to be a bug with our timing statistics, but the time is obviously spent in script updates (the 18 ms max value is way too much). Now the question is which :-)
My guess would be treefarm lite, because it takes the most of time that is counted, but this really is just a wild guess. Can you please upload the save and mod folder? I'll try to look at it when I have some time.
