Dear Factorio Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I recently upgraded the operating systems on 20 of my MacBook Pro devices with M1 chips (8GB RAM) to macOS Sequoia Beta 15.0 (24A5309e). Unfortunately, after this update, I’ve encountered an issue where Factorio is unable to launch.
When I click the “Play” button on Steam, the game briefly shows as “Running,” but it doesn’t actually open. After a moment, the Steam interface reverts back to showing the “Play” button as if nothing happened.
Could you please advise on how to resolve this issue? I’m eager to get back to playing the game as soon as possible. Thank you very much for your assistance.
Best regards,
huyicun

[1.1.109] Crash on start on Sequoia and Steam (MR)

Re: Issue with Factorio on macOS Sequoia Beta 15.0 (24A5309e) on M1 MacBook Pro
In case it's the same issue, I have the same crash after the most recent Sequoia Beta update. I removed both Steam and Factorio, including Library files. I then installed the newest version of both. There is no log created from Factorio in the Application Support folder. The saves are downloaded from cloud, no other files/folders exist. I couldn't find any relevant information in the console or system logs other than tccd. I tried installing an older version of Factorio and the same issue persists. Turning cloud saves off does not help. I am not expecting help since I am running an unsupported configuration, but I figured I would add relevant information to this discussion if it helps.
Thank you and have a great day
EDIT:
When run from terminal the application seems to be restarting itself.
A similar crash happens with Factorio installed on Steam through Whisky (Game Porting Toolkit). I attached an image of the error dialog.Prompting policy for hardened runtime; service: kTCCServiceAppleEvents requires entitlement com.apple.security.automation.apple-events but it is missing for responsible={TCCDProcess: identifier=com.factorio, pid=8414, auid=501, euid=501, responsible_path=/Users/cbusillo/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Factorio/factorio.app/Contents/MacOS/factorio, binary_path=/Users/cbusillo/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Factorio/factorio.app/Contents/MacOS/factorio}, accessing={TCCDProcess: identifier=com.apple.open, pid=8416, auid=501, euid=501, binary_path=/usr/bin/open}, requesting={TCCDProcess: identifier=com.apple.appleeventsd, pid=392, auid=55, euid=55, binary_path=/System/Library/CoreServices/appleeventsd},

This has been fixed in the macOS Sequoia 15.1 Beta 3 update.
