Factorio flashes/blinks when loading/checking sprites at startup

Factorio flashes/blinks when loading/checking sprites at startup

When Factorio is starting up, the screen flashes white every few seconds, 4-6 times, when the sprites are being loading/checked.

In version 1.1.78, there are no flashes, but I first noticed the problem in version 1.1.87 and now also in version 1.1.91.

Factorio loads correctly and the game play is not affected in any way - its just annoying.

I am using an older Dell Vostro 3750 laptop, 8GB RAM.
