[1.1.57] "Factorio crashed in EntityRender on AMD Ryzen CPU" in MP game

Post by PParrot »

Game crashed while playing on lightly modded redmew MP server. First time I witness this specific crash/error message.
CPU is Ryzen 5 2600X, MB is B450M DS3H, for which the chipset drivers are up-to-date (Windows 7 x64)
Crash happened shortly after game gained focus while hovering over a modded entity (Warehouse), froze and then crashed with the aforementioned error message.
Attached are logs, minidump and savegame
Mods on server as listed in MP window
  • Squeak Through 1.8.2
  • Warehousing 0.5.6
  • base 1.1.57
  • danger_ore_extra 0.0.10
  • deadlock-beltboxes-loaders 2.4.2
  • early_construction 0.9.3

Did you do what the error message said to do?

BIOS and Chipset drivers are latest available from vendor, CPU clock is stock, RAM XMP is within limits set by vendor (profile is from the vendor, as far as I know), and the game is using 8 threads for rendering, which has never been changed.
The crash has been abrupt and without specific actions being performed, and I couldn't recover a save game until after the fact.
If you need the actual mods zips, I've attached them to this reply, but I'm unsure about the settings used by the server. It is currently in the server browser listed as "Redmew - Danger Ores" for latest stable (1.1.57)
If there's something that flew way over my head, please let me know

Well, changing those settings is the only workaround for this hardware defect, if don't want to try it you will need to accept that it crashes from time to time. For more info see 100589.

Does it still crash if you disable XMP? XMP is technically overclocking the RAM, even if the vendor says 'it should work' it doesn't mean it will every time.
If you want to get ahold of me I'm almost always on Discord.
