[2.0.7] Error loading Space Age expansion

I just downloaded the space age extension, and installed it into my existing Factorio folder.
When i start the game, it get an error "Error loading mods: elevated-rails requires space age expansion". When i disable elevated rails, it says "Error loading mods: Space Age requires elevated rails" ...

This is silly... Is this normal? Did i botch the install? Or do i have to wait for a patch?

Have the same issue.
Only difference is that I uninstalled Factorio and installed SpaceAge afterwards.

Any idea how to fix this?

Edit: Deleted all mods I had in pre-space-age-factorio

Hello, how did you installe the expansion?

The first error "Error loading mods: elevated-rails requires space age expansion" means that you are running vanilla 2.0 executable, not expansion executable. They are both factorio.exe, and when you install the expansion it should overwrite the executable too.

Thanks, it may be the case that somehow the vanilla-executable was not overwritten correctly.

I did do an install of space age over the existing install.
But maybe the file wasn't changed.
At least that's a hint I can work on.

Right now I did reinstall base factorio and then run the space age over it again to see if it helps.

Edit: How can I identify the correct executable?

Thanks to your hint I got it to work.

I renamed the factoio.exe to something else and let the space age installer run again, then it worked.


I did find something strange:

The factorio.exe installed from classic installer (Setup_Factorio_2.0.7) is newer than the factorio.exe from space age installer () which might prevent the space age installer from overwriting the classic exe.

Files also have different sizes.
