Does the game continue on dedicated server if no one is online?

Does the game continue on dedicated server if no one is online?

I have a dedicated server running at my home and I was wondering the the game continues if no players are online. For example do miner or assembling machines keep running if no one is connected to the server.

On default the server pauses without players, but there is a setting to keep it running.
