[1.1.5] Game exits on startup and while on main menu

When I try to start the game up it abruptly exits after a short period of time. Sometimes if the loading screen takes a little longer than normal, it will exit while on the loading screen. If it gets past the loading screen, it sits on the main menu for only 1 or 2 seconds before exiting out. This happens when I start the game through Steam as well as when run the .exe directly.

I haven't played since updating to 1.1, so I tried downgrading back to 1.0 and it still happened. I also tried rebooting my computer, updating my graphics driver, and re-installing the game but it's still happening. I went back to 1.1 and it happens every time I start the game.

I attached my mods and a log. I didn't include a save file because it happens before I load any particular save. Please let me know if you need any more information.

That's what it seemed like to me as well. Is there anything else I can do to send information? I don't get any sort of message, the game just closes out.

You could check what the windows event log has stored for why the factorio process terminated. You could also try the standalone version of the game from the factorio website, that would rule out any steam issue.

I checked the event viewer and saw some warnings occur when I try and start the game (not exactly sure if it's caused by it, but it appears every time I try and launch the game). I'll attach a screenshot of the event.

It seems like some issue with my computer unrelated to Factorio, I think this warning appears in other cases too. I'm trying to look into what I can from my end (updating drivers, googling error messages etc). I appreciate the help!

I tried your recommendation of downloading the standalone version. That seems to have fixed it. I guess it's an issue with steam? Again, appreciate the help!
