Hi,
I've set up a dedicated pyanodon mod server for me and some friends.
Now. starting steam, starting factorio, wait for all mods to load, yes I know I selected a specific beta version and it's not on auto update, multiplayer, connect to address, hit enter because it's the only IP I will ever play on, enter the password, wait again untill it's connected and the map is loaded...
Now I don't want auto updates because I do not have any auto update mechanic on the headless server and I don't always have time to update the server when a new version comes out and my friends want to play.
A shortcut with `--mp-connect=123.456.789.000:1234 keeps bugging me for the non auto update stuff and dosn't even connect if manually acknowledged.
Question:
Can I create a shortcut with `--mp-connect=123.456.789.000:1234 --confirm-beta` or similar to just start it, go get a coffe and be connected when I get back?
Can I maybe even pass the password per cli arg? (not yet sure how this white-listing exactly works, but I assume I could just get rid of the password)
command line argument to skip no auto update channel
Re: command line argument to skip no auto update channel
If you download the .exe installer version or the portable .zip version, you can disable "check for updates when launching Factorio" under settings->other. (That option doesn't exist in the Steam version, since Steam is responsible for updating the Steam version). I think that will do what you want.
Re: command line argument to skip no auto update channel
That's gonna be difficult, since I'm running this on Linux atm. ^^
It is an ingame modal, not a steam modal I'm talking about.
