Any way to force resolution?

I'm having some issues playing the game on a slow laptop. I get from 20 to 40 fps/ups depending on graphics settings, full screen being a bit better than windowed. But if I leave factorio as a small window (1280x786) I get 60/60 no problem. Unfortunately that's very small on the screen. Is there any way to force it to 1280x786 when I maximize the windowed mode?

you could try using a custom resolution depending on what's supplying your graphics.

i use a 4:3 ratio that is 1080px high. have to set it to 'maintain aspect ratio'
i've saved a 1920, and a 1440 profile. the narrower screen runs better, and keeping
the height @ the native resolution keeps the pixels from getting fuzzy.

i think nvidia allows custom resolutions.

helps when there is a lot of smoke, or trees.

Thanks for the response and the welcome. Seems I can't access that since I have a custom manufacturer driver version. I'm just playing on a different machine for now.
