[Multi] 30kb map download at start on otherwise good cnx

Hello,

I playing at factorio with 2 friends and each start of game begin by 15/20 minutes of waiting... Each joiner have to reDownload map with 30kb/s... (I download at 2mb/s on torrent).

So can you use a uniq ID encoded in save file for exemple? In fact, all players have the same autosave file of the game, if we use it to create game, its useless to reDownload it...

Otherwise, I don't understand why you limit the flow like that...

It's more of a synchronized thing. The second you loaded the map, it's already changed. Aliens moved, belts are moving, materials are moving - something somewhere is moving & changing.........therefore when someone joins, it needs to sync to exactly what the map is now, not 5 or 10 or even 1 second ago.

ir's not a real problem : just need manage lobby, and player will be abble to join with same save file....

In exact the same microsecond. If he joins 2 microseconds later the maps are out of sync.

Everyone would sit in lobby and all start at once from the same save.

All three friends should run speedtest and whoever has highest upload should host. Disable peer-to-peer.

Already done.

We have test all combination : with the better we dl at 40kb/s instead of 30kb/s ...

But when using local area, we dl at 1.2mb/s, so I don't understand were is the problem with internet connexion...

The more information you'll add, the more likely it will be the problem's origin will be found. What's usually useful (non exhaustive) :
- the factorio logs of the players
- informations about your pings to each other
- ...

Download speeds are usually much higher than upload speeds in residential broadband. The host uploads the map to the other players, so the speed is terrible. A potential solution is to pay $5-$10 to a game host. That way all players are downloading. I setup a server on Vultr and my map DL speeds is over 1 MB/s.
