@Smarty
The opengl thing worked only when i combined it with the other two methods from your first post. The graphical glitches are no longer a problem.
My problem now is that whenever i try to maximise the game it just goes black like in the screenshot in my previous post. If you have any idea about that i'd appreciate it.
Thanks

Re: Graphic problem
Can you send here factorio log, please?
I assume you have an AMD graphics card. Could you open Catalyst Control Center and post a screenshot of 3D Application Settings (like attached picture)?

Re: Graphic problem
Thanks.
In the logs, there is still "Initialised Direct3D", it should say "Initialised OpenGL" when force-opengl=true is used. Did you change it back to false? Could you try force-opengl again and make sure the game really initializes OpenGL?
If that doesn't work, you could try to workaround it by running in fullscreen, so you can't resize the window by accident , or you could configure Factorio to Power saving mode in Switchable Graphics Application Settings in Catalyst Control Center, which should make Factorio to run on integrated Intel GPU.

Re: Graphic problem
Yeah, i put it back to opengl and checked the logs to make sure it had taken but it made no difference. So i switched to the onboard graphics adapter and it works but now runs like arse!!! Looks like i'll have to upgrade to a desktop...
Just want to say thanks for making a great game, i've poured hours and hours into it and had so much fun

Re: Graphic problem
@Natfrac42, thank you for your appreciation . We have added workaround for the missing textures issue into 0.12.17. If you update, I think the best configuration for you should be:
I hope 0.12.17 finally solves the issue for you. Cheers
Code: Select all
force-opengl=false
video-memory-usage=all
graphics-quality=normal
