[0.8.0 MacOS] Updating

We are aware of them, but they have low priority. We have more important things to do. They go here in order not to take space in the main bug thread list.

[0.8.0 MacOS] Updating

Post by ssilk »

Automatic update didn't work this time. So I made it myself.

After installing it told me, that it can't be started, because it is from a non-certified developer. :)

Ok, I made it myself:

Code: Select all

macpro:factorio.app ssilk$ ./Contents/MacOS/factorio

Restarting factorio

Floating point exception: 8
This was updating the scenario package from v 0.7.4 (didn't update to 0.7.5 on mac)...

Indeed, when I think about it, I mean this is on windows not much different: The restarting throws always a warning, that the application didn't response.
Cool suggestion: Eatable MOUSE-pointers.

On my Mac (10.9), If I double click the application or run it from spotlight or an icon, I get the warning about the developer being unrecognized and I am unable to open the app.

BUT!

If I open the Application folder and right click on Factorio and then choose Open, I will still get a warning that the developer is not certified, but the warning message will let me proceed to open the application anyways. After I've done this once, I can run the application via normal launch methods until the next time I download an update.

Hmmm, probably has to do something with signing the application by a "certified apple key"? Anyone has any tips?

I had this problem also once and it got solved by installing as root... Or some other magic.
Sort for beeing so unspecific. I will search it, but not yet.
