While in editor entities tab if you try to place belts with either brush or spray and move you mouse, belts get placed only on vertical axis i. e. brush only reacts to vertical mouse movement and ignores horizontal one. If you pressed 'r' then belt brush gets locked to horizontal axis.
Underground placement leads to similarly strange results
There is a mechanic that locks belt placement to one line in ordinary gameplay, and I think this same mechanic leaks to the brush in editor. And the way brush and spray places belts there's no reason for axis lock mechanic to apply here.
How to reproduce
1. Open editor
2. Select entities tab
3. From the menu on the left pick a belt, any belt
4. Select either spray or brush placement method.
5. Now click and drag on ground diagonally. You'll see placement restricted to one axis.
6. For a bonus press r and now placement is restricted to another axis
Locking belt placement to a line makes no sense for placement method that places belts randomly in a radius around a cursor.
I attached a video demonstration if it's needed

Re: [2.0.11] In editor placing belts with spray locks placement to one axis
Thanks for the report however I don't consider this worth the time and code complexity to try to work around. "spraying" belts has virtually zero purpose so if it's locked to a line while held it doesn't really matter.
If you want to get ahold of me I'm almost always on Discord.
