It's a bit hard to describe... when in map view, at the maximum detailed view (before zooming out any further) and there is some territory not revealed by radar, hovering near an ore patch will have the ore field quantity partially display in the unrevealed section. A picture tells a thousand words.
Main mods that may contribute are Bob's, Longreach and Infinizoom (but this isn't Infinizoomed).
