[0.16.41] Stuck on loading map

Hi, I think I've come across an infinite loop of some sort here -

I have a large train-based map. ( https://i.imgur.com/57pigiP.jpg / walkthrough album here - https://imgur.com/a/35Phn ) After updating to the latest version, it now attempts to load but gets stuck during the process.

1. What did you do?

After updating to 0.16.41, I started the game via Steam and attempted to load my latest save, last saved on version 0.16.40.

2. What happened?

The 'Loading map' bar filled up like normal (10-15 seconds?) , but the main in-game interface never showed. My CPU usage is around 50% utilization, spread across 8 logical cores (4 physical) - 2 mostly fully utilized, the other 6 up and down a bit. No other applications were running. I left the game for about an hour and a half and came back to it still in the same spot.

Further action:

Attempting to quit the game by clicking the native Windows 'X' in the upper right corner results in the CPU usage dropping by about half but the game continuing to stay running. Task manager statistics screenshots at the end of that album above ( https://imgur.com/a/5DGOBQT )

Repeated attempts:

I get the same results every time, and got the same results with mods disabled.
Reverting to 0.16.40 had the save game loading successfully with mods on.

0.16.41 contains a bugfix that needs to replace every rail signal when you load an older save. Considering that you have a huge train-based map, this will take a looong time.
  • Try waiting even longer. If it works, save the map again and you should be fine from then on.
  • 0.16.42 is supposed to have a faster fix, so you could wait until that’s released.

I'd wait for 16.42 if an hour and a half didn't do it.

Update: Load completed in approximately 2 hours. Subsequent save then reload took the usual few seconds. Thanks for the tips y'all
