It seems that if you enter a search string into the Search field on the "browse public games" list, it gets remembered, but doesn't display it again. I love that it remembers it, but it doesn't show you that it remembered it.
Steps to reproduce:
On the menu: Multiplayer -> Browse Public Games.
Enter a search string in the upper-right corner. (Best if it shows just a few servers)
Hit "Back"
Click "Browse Public Games" again.
Your search string will still be active, but it will not show it to you in the search field.
The dropdown lists seem to retain & display their settings, but the search field isn't displaying the retained setting.
