[0.18.24] Crash trying to place item not in inventory within another surface

Hi,

Factorio is crashing for me when I try to place down an item not in my inventory within "The Lab" (https://mods.factorio.com/mod/BlueprintLab_Bud18).

Steps to reproduce:
1. Go to lab by clicking the button on the left side "TheLab"
2. Select Steel Pipe from the hotbar
3. Place it anywhere ==> crash

This error did not happen before 0.18.24. I started this playthrough in 0.18.19. Krastorio is currently in 0.9.16 but I also tested if an update to 0.9.17 would help.

Although I can reproduce it quite reliably
