Items cannot be opened or mined

I have a row of 4 burner mining drills with 4 stone furnaces, less than 10 minutes into a new game, using 0.16.5.

One of the furnaces and two of the drills cannot be opened or mined, i.e. when I left- or right-click on them, nothing happens. The others can be both opened and mined as usual.

I have a 0.16.4 game yesterday where I saw this happen to inserters and assemblers somewhat later into the game (~1 hour), but I was unable to report it then -- my internet connection is behaving badly.

In both cases I saved, exited, restarted, and loaded the saved game, but it did not fix the problem. I had not alt-tabbed out as mentioned in another post.

I have both the 0.16.4 and the 0.16.5 saved games if they would be useful.

In both cases on startup I selected Rail World and No Attack First, and changed initial Iron and Oil richness to high, otherwise a default start.

if u are using overwolf, disable it and the game will work again

if u are on iMac, you will have to wait till they fix the mac problem.

I have no idea what overwolf is. So I doubt if I have it installed.

I went back to 0.15.40 and got the same problem after about 5 minutes. I have been using Factorio successfully since 0.12, and have never had a crash of any kind, nor have I found any bugs that prevented the game from continuing. In this case the object cannot be mined so it will stay there forever until I abandon that particular game. I am effectively shut out of Factorio. I will completely uninstall in Steam and try again.

Oops I neglected to say I am using Windows 10, Core i7 4790K, GTX970, 16GB memory, running at 1440p

I uninstalled, moved the entire Factorio folder in appdata/roaming, and reinstalled 16.5 in Steam.

Started a new game with the same settings I mentioned before in this thread,

The problem is still there with one burner mining drill.

Can not reproduce, my bet would be that you have some other process that does the same thing overwolf does.
