A bit late to the party, but I'm gonna miss the dev blogs! Keep up being awesome Wube, I'm excited to see what's next in store, brand new game is very welcome! And I hope there will be more dev blogs about that too!

There are plenty of other companies developing other games. There is only one company developing Factorio. And while a lot of work has already been done, a lot of work can still be done, and I don't think that's going to change in the foreseeable future.
You should not be surprised though when they probably will value their own happiness more than yours ;) . My consolation is that if Kovarex has a good idea he wants to implement it very probably will be a new genre, just like factorio was unique. And if he gets no idea, they eventually might return to adding something to factorio to keep themselves occupied.

I don't think they will stop maintaining Factorio. I.e. they'll surely release a patch when something stops working. It isn't even about the money but they surely want their creation to always look perfect.

usually i like the factorio music, the new planets not so, i often let factorio afk run while doing other stuff, the nauvis music wasnt that annoying, but the new, is.

I feel like its too muich, for too long, like maybe start their music, then go neutral, and then the planet music comes back or something...?

So please add "no music in background" back.

I have a suggestion for next project, it is Factorio 3D mod. NOT A NEW GAME LIKE OTHER COPY CATS! The game would be the same under the hood, but the graphic presentation would be 3D like in the game King's Bounty the Legend.

While digging deeper into Space Age, it's fascinating to see the difference in maturity from the established 1.1 items and mechanics in comparison to the new space age items and mechanics. There are still a few rough edges here and there, and you see where it seems not 100% thought through but just 90%. That's not a sign of rushed development, since there is law 90/10 of software development: you get 90% of the work with 10% of the effort, and the remaining 10% work requires 90% of the effort. If you go directly for 100%, you will never release anything. It's just a sign how painstakingly polished the 1.1 game is. I'm quite sure Space Age will get the same love.

I kinda hoped for a "content-update", where new content may still be added… especially when it comes to locomotion. E-Trains, motorcycles, "hypertubes", ships - aircraft probably don't make any sense? And some Logistic-Interfaces, like "nixie tubes" mod, to make displays of numbers - and symbols - more trivial in vanilla.

But other things as well, but which may come - I was a bit let down by the elevated rails, since "integrating" it to a high-dense factory does not make any sense IMO.

Mean, sure there is a "mod for everything", though this requires experimenting - there are duplicate mods for the same thing, some may not work together etc. and the mentioned additions would, in my pov, broaden the playability horizontally, while providing a - likely - stable and standard way of experimenting.

That all sad, i'd hope to see a content-update or even a whole DLC expanding the research tree, with mostly nice-to-haves and adopting high-popular mods as was done in the past.
And a big thank you, what the devs have crafted, delivered and talked about.

I think Space Age needs more work and that work needs to be directed by one specific person. I just hope that this person is not fed up with the game after all these years.
