[0.13.4][posila] Crash on loading save created with 13.1

Place for things which are bugs but we have no idea how to solve them. Things related to hardware, libraries, strange setups, etc.

[0.13.4][posila] Crash on loading save created with 13.1

Post by tom2784 »

I have a save that I created on 13.1
Yesterday I upgraded to 13.4 and played for a couple of hours
Today I am unable to load the save, or any of the 3 auto saves.
The load bar gets to around 50 %, then I get a message to post here, and have to force quit the application.
I am able to load a game I finished in 12.

I have tried to load the game 3 or 4 times, and I have restarted my computer.

Here is the log:

Did you previously have any mods on the save file that you removed?
If you want to get ahold of me I'm almost always on Discord.

No. I have never installed a mod on this or any save file

Has anyone else managed to recreate this issue with the save?

I don't really want to lose my progress!

Thanks

There might be a chance to fix the save manually but that will need a dev to find time for it, so you might be better of starting new.

Thanks for the report.
One bit in position coordinates of one entity was wrong, which caused it to create new chunks during loading and that messed things up. We don't know for sure what caused the bit flip, in general we think it is HW issue (faulty memory).
