Re: Disappearing belts
This happened to me after I put my computer on standby during the game startup. Game version = 0.12.30
When the system woke up, the loading screen had changed. Only a purple bar (instead of the usual orange) and the percentage remained, the Factorio logo had disappeared.
When I loaded my game after that, my belts had disappeared:

Re: Disappearing belts
I'm guessing the log file, along with any mods you may be using, could be helpful...
Re: Disappearing belts
Are the actual entities gone or are they just not being rendered?
Automatic Belt (and pipe) Planner—Automate yet another aspect of constructing your factory!
Re: Disappearing belts
The items on the belts still moved across the field, so the belts were there, but just invisible.prg wrote:Are the actual entities gone or are they just not being rendered?
Where do I find the log file?sillyfly wrote:I'm guessing the log file, along with any mods you may be using, could be helpful...
Haven't installed any mods.

They are just not rendered, they are working as normal, just not displayed.
Possible steps to reproduce the bug (i dont know if this is the cause)
Start Facotio.exe->Put computer to sleep->Wake up computer->Load game for multiplayer->Join player 2
Re: Disappearing belts
That 2nd step is the issue - don't put the computer to sleep with a game running and expect the game to not have issues.boksiora wrote:prg wrote:Are the actual entities gone or are they just not being rendered?

If you want to get ahold of me I'm almost always on Discord.
Re: Disappearing belts
My PC went to sleep automatically overnight while game was minimized.
Maybe if you can detect that you can show a message in factorio that it needs restart.
This "sleep thing" can happen without people realizing it.
For example if i am playing on a laptop and close the laptop, it goes to sleep.
If the game is running i can get a message when i get back to the game.

Re: Disappearing belts
I had the same exact thing happen to me, but I plugged my second monitor in with a vga cable.
and it have also happened to different degrees of invisible-ness like one time only the rail-tracks was invisible.
if you want I can test it some more.
