[REQUEST] Train Grid

Transport drones adds an option to add road grid on map at generation. Can one be made for a rail grid, maybe with adjustable size grids/city block sizes???
No stops or turnouts just grid, signals, and maybe 2 or 4 lane.

Certainly seems possible using https://lua-api.factorio.com/latest/eve ... _generated.

So you want just a number of lanes going north - south and west - east in any given chunk?
Assuming there can be tiles placed, of course - or just ovveride to oblivion and put landfill under them, remove cliffs etc if necessary?

Either way, I might look into this to see if it is possible

Once upon a time, when Factorio 0.17 was still state of the art, there was a mod for auto-generating rails. According to this discussion thread, the mod would still work in Factorio 1.1.41 after "factorio_version" was changed in info.json.
A good mod deserves a good changelog. Here's a tutorial (WIP) about Factorio's way too strict changelog syntax!
