[0.13.0] Crash to desktop when installing a mod
I installed 0.13.0 from Steam. Went to install the Tape Measure mod, and it threw an error 'Updated version has same file name'.
I clicked 'OK' and it crashed to desktop.
Tried a different mod after that, and had the same issue.

Re: [0.13.0] Crash to desktop when installing a mod
same problem here.
and somehow the mod still got installed, yet I can't find the mod file anywhere in the mod folder or steam workshop folders and it's not present in the list of installed mod so I can't remove it.
unless the landfill mod was made part of the game????

Re: [0.13.0] Crash to desktop when installing a mod
Having same problem. It downloads the mod/s into temp folder then get that error and closes. Manually moving the files and works just in-game mod portal just doesn't like to install.
"Landfill" is in base now. Surprised me seeing it in complete vanilla.

My mods folder is clean, I install a mod from within the mod portal in-game It'll download for a moment and "update version has same file name" will pop up force closing the game.
Re: "Updated version has same file name" on install mod.
Same here. I'm running on a Mac and Steam. I guess I will just work on my achievement until they patch it.

Same problem with the mod book on the mac after a complete Factorio deinstall and vanilla install of 0.13 direct from the developers siteJayReed wrote:Same here. I'm running on a Mac and Steam. I guess I will just work on my achievement until they patch it.
Re: "Updated version has same file name" on install mod.
Thank you for reporting, this should be fixed in 0.13.1.

Re: "Updated version has same file name" on install mod.
same here, thx for your work guys
Re: "Updated version has same file name" on install mod.
I'm using this workaround for now (on windows 7)
1. find and try to install your required mod from the mod portal
2. when it crashes to desktop go into %appdata%/Factorio/temp
3. move the zip file for your mod to %appdata%/Factorio/mods
4. UNPACK the zip file into a folder of THE SAME NAME still inside %appdata%/Factorio/mods. i.e. TimeTools_1.0.13.zip -> TimeTools_1.0.13
5. delete the zip file
6. start Factorio and find your mod installed
7. repeat for all the mods you want.
Notes:
Step 4 is IMPORTANT. Factorio will just delete the zip file if you don't unpack it.
make sure when you unpack it that you don't have a single folder inside of the folder
Also, when the patch for this comes out I recommend you delete all the folders and install properly through Factorio.
Cheers

Re: "Updated version has same file name" on install mod.
You can just download the zip file directly from the source at https://mods.factorio.com/
You do not need to unzip mods. It's actually preferred to keep them zipped.

Same problem. Bumping in hopes that this gets patched next build. (I'm running beta 0.13.0)
