[0.12.0] [Mac OS Lion] Crash before loading screen

Mac version: 10.7.5

I got a popup window before the loading screen (which never came up)

This happened when i updated via the 0.11.20 updater and when i downloaded the .dmg separately.
Restarting my machine doesn't solve it.

No factorio log file is produced, but I did get this from the system logs.

Hi, I'm having the same issue on the same configuration, MacOS 10.7.5

The popup is the only warning i'm getting, there's no factorio log, haven't checked the system log but i suppose it's gonna be the same.

Tried both downloading the .dmg and autoupdater, tried putting a config.ini in the factorio folder with low graphic settings, no change.

0.11.22 runs quite fine tho

It might be interesting to see what you two got in the system logs.

You can open the Console from Applications->Utility->Console and make sure you select "All Messages" on the top left hand side. Then run Factorio 0.12.0 and that's what popped up in my System Log.

If I just double-click the factorio icon, system.log shows:

So same problem, slightly different presentation.

There is no factorio prefs folder created in either case, the app totally fails to launch.

I am really keen to try out the new version… so if there's something wrong with my system, I'll fix it!

But if this build is broken… I'll just have to wait.

This was an attempt to fix problems with japanese Mac, it seems that I will have to revert it then. Could you send me your system usernames and languages?

System language is English.

System username is simple lowercase alpha characters.

The only thing I can see which could cause any problem is that my hard drive is called "Macintosh HD" with a space in it.

I would be happy to test an experimental alpha build

Same, English and 4 lower case letters for user name. Maybe I should try changing it to Kanji to make it work

I tried changing my system language to Japanese and it didn't help.

p.s. it's much easier setting your language to Japanese than it is to change it back!

Maybe you would also have to change your user name or the path file to make it work. I think I'll wait for the next patch!

English system language, system username is 6 alpha characters, one uppercase and the rest lowercase... nothing wild neither here

No, it's not fixed but got worth. 0.12.0 worked without any problems on my iMac, OS X 10.10.4 (Yosemite). But now 0.12.1 crashes before loading screen without any trace of logs at all, like infinitehubgear said before. You must have done something that only works on legacy Macs...

Btw my iMac runs with system language set to Japanese so it might affect something.
