[boskid][2.0.21] Some signals cannot be parameterized

Post by macdjord »

Certain signals cannot be parameterized in blueprints. If you hit 'parameterize blueprint' on a blueprint where these signals are set, the signal they are set to is not offered as a parameterizable value. If you have the same signal used elsewhere in the blueprint and make it a parameter, the value for these signals will still be the original signal when you place the blueprint. Even if you manually set these signals to [Parameter 0] or similar, they will still be [Parameter 0] when the blueprint is placed.

The affected signals are:
  • 'Set stack size', on all variants of inserters
  • 'Read temperature', on the fission reactor and heating tower
  • 'Read recipe finished' and 'Read working', on the foundry, biochamber, all tiers of assembler, refinery, chem. plant, centrifuge, EM plant, cryoplant, and crusher
Note: The fact you can't parameterize 'Set stack size' has been reported previously. The first one was closed as 'fixed', though it hasn't been fixed as of 2.0.21, and the second one was closed as a duplicate, even though the bug it was marked as a duplicate of is talking about something completely different (namely that if you have multiple inserters in a blueprint that have had their stack sizes manually overridden to different constant values, then trying to parameterize the blueprint will result in all the inserters being set to the same constant stack size).

Thanks for the report. Those are now added for 2.0.24.
