Re: Version 0.18.42
This update GAVE me the bug that I have to drag the whole map in zoomed in map view and it’s kinda random placement by cursor!

Settings>controls>Advanced interaction>drag map. Unbind that. Fixed.
Dumb that it caused it for me. Didn’t have that problem before this update.

Re: Version 0.18.42
I am not able to download it through steam, yet. Is this version deprecated ?
Re: Version 0.18.42
Its showing up as published in steamdb .. 18hrs ago .. build_id 5366025
<https://steamdb.info/app/427520/depots/>
I have found I need to exit and restart my steam client for it to detect an update for games sometimes.

Re: Version 0.18.42
It might be the same but this is how I was updating version for last months. After new version is downloaded, I just restart server. If I select 0.18.x I don't know which version is being downloaded nor when it will be downloaded if I keep steam running. Overall I have more control over it, because steam needs restart from time to time too and this way I can just open it, select new version, download it and close steam again.
This is shown when you select 0.18.x.

Re: Version 0.18.42
Hmm, ok. I added explicit 0.18.42 branch and cleaned up some old ones.
Re: Version 0.18.42
Thank you, I looked at the other ways of updating server on windows machine but headless version is available for linux only. I know its lame to update it this way and I should change it but considering 1.0 release is just few weeks away, I will stick with it.
Re: Version 0.18.42
I used update my game in steam manually to the latest version, but not to automatic to .x, after i had to revert one of my blueprint backup files. Some other reasons i could think of:
- So i can wait a few hours to see if noting breaks at other players, and skip bugged updates.
- Another reason would be to wait for a mod specific mod to be updated.
- Usually i stay at latest, but i never want to downgrade back, as that brings hassle to the version of your blueprint storage.
-A change to backup my files outside the stream cloud, before i update.
-Sometimes multiplayer servers have a reason to stay on a specific version (scenario code for example), which sometimes is a reason for me to stay on sub-latest for a few more days.
No offence in here btw. With the continious delivery of quality updates and quick patches, i'm glad i never have to play old stable builds, and could join the online community in the bughunt.

Re: Version 0.18.42
Ok, so it's NOT just steam that forces updates on us. I was on 18.35 until this morning, and had that explicit version selected under betas, but now, just about 1/2 hour ago, it updated me to current version, and selected "NONE, opt out of betas" for me, against my wishes. Also noticed there are fewer experimental versions to select from. Guess I need to uninstall factorio from steam altogether, and just play the standalone versions from now on.
I've never EVER experienced this much trouble with a piece of software FORCING me to update against my wishes.

I guess you have not read my response to you here viewtopic.php?p=501589#p501589, since I have not quoted your post there.

Re: Version 0.18.42
i did read that, and I understand steam is a big part of the problem. But when you said "...and cleaned up some old ones" it sounded like you did have something to do with them going away. Also in that same post, you said:posila wrote: ↑Tue Aug 04, 2020 3:36 pmI guess you have not read my response to you here viewtopic.php?p=501589#p501589, since I have not quoted your post there.
So there is some recognition of problems with it.
