[17.1] Crashes at start up in Steam (Mac)

When opening the game in Steam, the text says "running" for 5 seconds and then goes away; begins syncing and then returns to default - not running.
Seems as if the game is crashing when being started.

Macbook Air Dual core 1.7Ghz
El Capitan OSX
