Huge FPS drop glitch

When playing factorio, sometimes I will have to go do something, and I save the game I am in, then click the escape key to pause the game. Later when I come back (and by now, my computer has fallen asleep) and wake up my computer, when I un-pause the game my FPS will hover around 20-25 and will not increase. The only way to get rid of this, is to exit the game and reload it. My computer should be able to easily run this, even with me playing at max settings @ 1080p. Even so, my specs are posted below.
Ryzen 7 1700
GTX 1060 3gb
16gb ddr4 2400 ram
450W psu

I'd appreciate if you look into this, as it can get annoying having to restart my game.

It also happens on my computer ..... but not very often

If it's just the sleep thing, the devs have already said that Factorio (along with most other games) is not supposed to go harmlessly through a computer going into sleep and waking up.
