[0.15.25] crash while saving multiplayer game

[0.15.25] crash while saving multiplayer game

while trying to save the game crashes. (see previous.log)
I was happily playing for a couple of hours without any issues.

Restarted Factorio --> Joined multiplayer --> Crash (see current.log)

Problem is solved after deleting the blueprint libraries from AppData\Roaming\Factorio

was not able to load any save.

This appears to be caused by a blueprint that you created – something containing transport belts. Can you reproduce this? Presumably, blueprinting the same setup should make it crash again. If so, please post the save and what it is you took a blueprint of.

The most weird thing is, that it looks like there was item on a transport belt in blueprint, which is not normally possible.

I tried to attach my wonky blueprint library. But it is to large to be attached. (12Mb) Can i do a wetransfer or something? (need an email)

On an other note, I switch a lot between my laptop and desktop. I sync my save folder with a dropbox mirror and steam sync.
I get that blue print books and blue prints are duplicated at random after each switch. Not sure if this is a known issue.

Thank you for the file. I tried to load the file with factorio in debug mode, and for some reason, in the middle of a big blueprint, there is suddenly EntityID of the next entity written as 0 (which should never happen).
I don't know why is this happening, the only thing that might help is if you gave us your latest save game (as it contains the blueprint library as well).

P.S. You might fix your problems by removing the blueprint library file and loading the latest save, it should update the library from the save.
P.P.S. Random memory failure is always possible.

The latest save (I think its just before the bug / blue print was created) is attached (0.15.25).
I did continue the save after deleting the library. I don't know if its any help, but attached as well (0.15.26)

Sorry for asking you so many things, but ... could you try to somehow reproduce the problem? Trying to make the last blueprint before the bug and closing/opening factorio with the save or something like that?
If you knew a way to reproduce it, it would probably be quite easy for us to figure out what went wrong.

Can you enlighten me on what the blueprint contains? Maybe I can figure out what I did...

Since the crash was only at the moment of saving, I have no clue what could be the source after +1 hours of playing the game

Hmmmm.. that seems to be a full blue print of a copper/ iron smelting station with loading bays, tracks and ovens.
It is however a red belt design which I'm fairly sure I did not touch at all!!! Was doing conversion to express belt / beacon setups...

I tried some things in the save but I'm still able to save and load.

Only thing that I can think of is the enormous number of duplicate blue prints I'd get when switching between installs on desktop and laptop. I had given up on deleting them manually as it is quite a pain in the a*s to delete a lot of blueprints from a blueprint book. So I'd let them accumulate... The one in the save however is clean as a whistle (might be 0.15.26 did the trick).

(are there duplicates in the broken library as far as you can see? / Any idea on how to find out how they are created?)

semi of topic question:
On the topic of blueprints, is opening a blue-print from the blueprint book, building it, pressing Q and finding a copy of that blueprint in your inventory intended behavior? I was under the impression that the whole point of the library was to make space for all my precious other stuff. now I still have to delete them every time I use one to make space available.

Well, yes, the point of the blueprint library is to retrieve the blueprints (or blueprint books) you want to work with this game, put them into your inventory (or quickbar) and use them.

This is a different bug that should be fixed for the next version.

Ok, I'm moving it to pending, until the bug (the crash due to invalid blueprint) can be reproduced, or happens again.

Btw. the corrupted entity is at the end of the file (there are about 15 more 0 bytes after that and then EOF). I think something might have gone wrong with writing the file to the hard drive.
