Game crashes at 89% loading

Yesterday I tried to play Factorio again after a long time and installed it [0.14.x] and it worked once but after changing the graphics settings and restart it crashed at 89% as in it just stopped doing anything even when waiting a few minutes. Updated to the experimental branch and had the same (start once and then not again). Now I am on 0.15.1 and yesterday it worked just fine but today it stoped again. I tried to fiddle around with the config.ini to see if it can be fixed. Even removed the graphics section to let it reset itself but it is no use.

There is no crash in your log.

First make sure you are using the most recent version by selecting 0.15.x from the betas tab, not a specific version.
Try launching it with the steam launch options set to --graphics-quality=normal and if that doesn't work also add --force-opengl to the launch options.

If that doesn't help then post a log containing the crash.
