Factorio 0.14.22 extremely slow LAN multiplayer 2 people

Post by factoriouzr »

The LAN multiplayer is extremely slow right after starting a brand new game and at regular frequent intervals on 0.14.22. I am playing over LAN with only one other person (2 people total).

Our characters will start walking really really slow for about 5 seconds, then the game will speed back up to normal. Then it will happen again and again every 1-3 minutes.

I enabled F5 debugging when it was happening and attached the screenshot below. When comparing the debugging when the game war running normally and slowly I noticed the following:

The FPS/UPS goes to 36.8/37.2 instead of fluctuating near 60.0/60.0
The other player's latency: 8 measured: 4 buffer:0 behind: 0 remains the same when it goes at 60 FPS or 36 FPS
the Flip: number is "21.090/7.411/27.203" when it's slow and it's "9.880/0.546/30.225" when it's fast

I once had a problem I tracked down with a mod using the debug view, but this time no mods are using much cpu time. Before the bottleneck mod used 0.6 cpu or so and disabling it in multiplayer made it go back to normal I think. Now I am barely playing with any mods, I disabled a lot of them for diagnosis and the debug info doesn't display any slowdowns caused by mods.

Multiplayer Factorio is unplayable like this and completely ruins the multiplayer experience. Please fix this as soon as possible.
